Insane: Electric Skate Boards

Updated: Sep 3, 2020

The Electric Skate Board and Scooter Craze is relatively new in Boston Metro. The "driver"/rider above appears to have a helmet but the odds of surviving unscathed contact with a 6200 pounded truck such as mine seem remote. As of this writing, electric scooters can only be rented in Cambridge and Brookline, but not Boston - thankfully. However the inclined can bring his or her own death board anywhere in this state.

As far as this blogger is concerned electric skate boarding is one of the most dangerous activities a human can do on the streets of Boston. Of course there may be more activities that take place, but what seems to make this one even more disconcerting is the reckless mindset of many skate boarders.

http://worldmap.harvard.edu/maps/boston-bikes details bicycle collisions that occurred between 2008 and 2012. Incredibly old data but yet identifies Commonwealth Ave and Mass Ave as the most dangerous for bikers and most likely skate boards and scooters, electric or human powered.
